Our Vision

The Sacramento Botanical Garden will be the premier botanical garden in the region, and a brand-new kind of destination for the Central Valley. A beautiful place to wander, gather, or unplug, where trees and blooms from around the world grow alongside California natives. An outdoor oasis for people of all ages that showcases the best of this region.

What We’re Planning

Accessible to Everyone

Wander at your own pace or join a guided tour. Lovely indoor and outdoor spaces will host large or small events, education, and research.

A Place to Rejuvenate

Trees and plants do more than beautify, they heal. Visitors will experience the real health benefits of nature, from cooler, cleaner air to the shade of a lush tree canopy, making this a place to breathe, slow down, and recharge.

Celebrating Farm-to-Fork Country

Special events and exhibits will commemorate the region’s rich agricultural history and explore how culturally diverse early settlers, and today’s residents, have used native trees and plants in daily life. Dining areas will feature locally sourced deliciousness.

Built for a Sustainable Future

Powered by sustainable resources, the garden will showcase regenerative agriculture and climate science and show visitors how to build healthier outdoor spaces of their own.
